I've been watching the series on Netflix about The Borgia's. I began almost immediately drawing comparisons between them and the Trump family basically because there is so much deceit, debauchery, playing with sex workers, blackmail, treason, murder, betrayal, etc. I've really worked my way through the series now binge watching. The use of faked love of God for power and fooling the masses is in there too which is also a Trump thing.
I must say I watched them do murder and mayhem, hypocrisy and even incest and so much much more and all in all I still found them more classy than today's Trump family. And that's the truth

(18,672 posts)The subject matter was fascinating, but wasn't a very good book, which is surprising since it was by Mario Puzo. I believe his son completed it after he died and it was called, "The Family". Lucrezia was made out to be a pawn, and it seems she's the one most vilified throughout history. I might check out the series. I call the Trump the Orange Borgia because the family really does remind me of them.
