(1,376 posts)Original Louis Prima version (with lyrics) was first recorded in 1936; instrumental version by Benny Goodman was 1937, but the 1938 Carnegie Hall version is the one is probably best known.

I consider myself still hip but, sheesh! Whatta difference from way back in the day.
