I'm 68 and smoked for over 50 years, Camels, Lucky Strikes, Pall Mall,
anything that had no filter. In the past few years I cut it down to 4 or 5 a day.
I have to admit that I miss it, especially in the early morning and after dinner.

(814 posts)I do not want it any less.
I do not think it is going to get any better. But, it is simply one of those things we say no to.
I do like the money part of it. Oh, and no coughing. And I walk, a lot, hills and fast.
Congrats. Keep it strong.

(16,402 posts)I've been just the opposite. Never want one, don't like the smell. The fact that you're still wanting it and still overcoming your urges just makes you that much more amazing.

(814 posts)Are you saying you were a smoker, quit and never want one, and do not like the smell? I want to be you.
I walk past people smoking, smell it, and suck in the air. Thank them and walk away, lol.

(5,311 posts)One of the best things you will ever do take it from me it will get better as you start to feel better physically. I was like you just take it one day at a time.

(13,210 posts)Because I had quit so often that I had to make the "It's groundhog's day!" joke
wasn't counting, so I had to figure it out - 274 days since I smoked.
I still smoke in my dreams and I wake up hoping my wife isn't angry at me.
I was a non-filter guy as well for 30+ years handg in there Panader0

(17,541 posts)You are 80 days ahead of me. I'm of similar age and smoking habits. I've stopped several times for more than a month, but always started up again. I'm determined this is it for me; I'm done with smokes period.
It is tough at times. I am around a smoker.

(62,521 posts)I hope everybody checks back @ the end of the year to tell us they are still off the weed.
That is a whole different story.

(8,944 posts)Never smoke another one. Not even one.
That is what it took for me. I once quit for four months and then bummed one and was going to smoke just that one. Which led to another one. And another one. Then one pack. Seven years later I quit for good.
