For example, a cool day in the summer doesn't disprove climate change. This is especially true when you have a moving target such as most money.

The bigger issue with piracy is not the biggest movies with the highest profit margins, it's the smaller movies with thin profit margins or don't get made because the profit won't be there. Thus we are seeing more tent pole movies or sequels. Those movies are more likely to turn a profit.

Now you can argue that there are other ways to fund movies than the big studios and other ways to distribute than in theaters, but there are implications to negotiating distribution deals for non-theatrical releases.
