(3,020 posts)I had the exact same problem two years ago, and here's how that works:
Trash can's left in the shed or garage.
Sell the house.
On the last walk-through inspection, explain it wasn't leftover rubbish, but that you left it there for them to use with garden clippings. The buyers were pleased, and said they appreciated my thoughtfulness.
They were happy, I was happy, I got paid for it.
