HBO "The Searcher" Elvis Presley

OK, since Priscilla was the exec producer they downplayed the drug use, but this was a fascinating look at just how amazingly talented and connected to the music this amazing performer truly was.

I dare anyone to listen to those old soundtracks, some of that gospel music, and tell me he didnt have the voice of an angel.

1. Have to admit, I never realized what a great talent he was until I saw this.

There is some really fantastic footage of him, lots in the pre-fame days, that I'd never seen before either, so it's really interesting from a historical perspective as well.

i had a relative who played his records all day when I was very little.

Even some of those recordings surprised me as to his voice. Also, when he is singing next to The Chairman of the Board, Ole Blue Eyes, HIS talent smacks you in the face because as beautiful as Elvis' voice is, Frank's is HARD and "in the pocket" like no other.

Oh, and I think if I had to choose one band to listen to:

6. If you are a fan you could do an HBO subscription for a month, watch it that way.

Well worth it.

Like I said, it almost entirely avoids scandals and anything negative about the "King", but I expected that given who produced it.

7. Yeah. Netflix, I think, is offering that right now.

Can't recall what the monthly subscription would be after that. I have thought about it.

The problem really is that there are so many things out there worth watching, not matter what your taste is, and I don't want to spend so much of my life in front of a screen.

8. HBO is separate but does make offers also.

The easiest thing to do is get the free whatever they are offering, pony up the CC info and then cancel when free is over. Usually a week, sometimes longer.

Or hell, if you really like Elvis it is worth a one time $12 for the month just to see this.
