(14,628 posts)but you don't have to supply your own eggs. Two raw eggs are provided in a keurig-type container, along with a plastic package with other ingredients. I've been buying them for about a year.
Super quick and easy and pretty good tasting.

(14,628 posts)I have fibromyalgia. If I eat a lot of carbs, the FM goes insane and I feel terrible. If I maintain a low carb diet, I feel much better and can more easily keep my weight down. Sugar makes me feel especially crappy, so I avoid it as much as possible.
I stay away from starchy foods like potatoes, rice and bread. I eat a lot of low carb veggies (spinach, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli). I mix in other veggies that do have carbs just to get a varied diet and avoid boredom.
When I want fruit I stick to berries because they have fewer carbs.
I eat whatever meats in whatever cuts I want. I also eat eggs quite often. Cheese too.
I don't count calories. I stick to the list above and eat as much as I want. I have found that staying on a low carb diet makes me feel fuller than when I eat a bunch of carbs.

(20,791 posts)When I go off it I feel like a slug: I get a pasta hangover.
As long as I stay off the carbs, I don't get the cravings. I'm a slave to the cravings, so, I'm way happier when I stay off them altogether.
Wheat is my real drug of choice: Gotta stay off it or I become a monster.

(15,805 posts)I looked at them last week at 2 for $4 just for a paltry 3oz (that's only about 1/2 cup!) container of chopped potatoes, cheese, peppers, onions and ham, plus the cost of an egg. Acckkk... more than $10 per pound!
On any day of the week, I already have those ingredients on hand without any additional costs. One of my favorite breakfasts is a frittata, quite similar to this prepackaged convenience food, and it doesn't have a large amount of salt or contain any thing like "Mold Inhibitors".
I can get 4-5 servings from a frittata made with 3 beaten eggs, a bit of diced ham, and some potatoes, cheese, peppers, onions that get chopped in the food processor in just a few seconds. Dump everything in a skillet, cover and its ready to eat in about 10-12 minutes. Refrigerate the remaining portions and I can have 5 hot breakfasts for much less than the $4 it would cost me to buy just 2 skimpy packages of "Just crack an egg".

(34,139 posts)My husband ate one with two eggs the other day and I had the other with one egg yesterday.
Neither of us were particularly impressed. My take was that the potatoes didn't seem cooked enough and that it needed a touch of onion.
For what they are, they are very expensive and produce a lot of plastic waste (one plastic bag for each ingredient, plus the plastic cup.)
If I wanted to eat that type of thing daily I guess I could make up my own small batches of ingredients, freeze then pull out a container each morning to cook. Or just buy Ore-Ida frozen hash browns, measure out a little of those, with pre-cooked bacon bits, some shredded cheese, and add an egg. Or start with this recipe - http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/amazing-muffin-cups-184623.aspx - and make my own embrellishments.
