this list could go viral and not be ignored. Many of those who support GOP in our area believe that it is the Democrats who never served in the military. Since this is an Army town that is a big plus, to have served.

It shows prominent democrats vs. republicans and showed who had served and who had not.
But like this video shows, the right is never interested in reality, only image.
Heck I remember when the movie "Urban Cowboy" came out and all the TX and OK folks were up in arms saying they'd know how to spot a "real" cowboy and then they get behind the shrub. Although from what I see out west, maybe he is the real cowboy now. They sure seem to wet their pants ever time they hear the word wolf.

10. A note of caution

I am a 61-year-old veteran. I enlisted in the Army in 1976 to sit out the mid-seventies recession at the age of 24 about a year after graduating from college. I wasn't the only one. There were a half-dozen college graduates in my basic training company at Ft. Dix.

I did not have to serve in the Army. I registered for the draft on my eighteenth birthday, November 3, 1969. The lottery was instituted in 1970, and I came up with a number of 297. The Vietnam War would have had to have taken a serious turn for the worse for me to get drafted with that number.

The point is that many of these people were under no obligation to serve. If they are my age or younger, it is questionable that they had any obligation at all.

In the late winter and early spring of 2003, I was out marching against the coming war against Iraq. Although I am proud of my military service, I think marching against that war was the most patriotic thing I ever did.

Many of the people on this list actively evaded military service at the time of the draft. In my opinion, Dan Quayle and George W. Bush, both of whom served in National Guard units, were draft dodgers. That was a well-known way to dodge the draft in those days, especially for well-connected young men. Does anyone want to call either of those two a "chickenhawk?" Go right ahead; I do.

However, neither Condoleezza Rice nor Ann Coulter dodged the draft. Young women were not subject to the draft. While I have nothing but contempt for Dr. Rice, who assisted the Bush Junta in ginning up a pack of lies used to justify the war against Iraq, and Ms. Coulter is just plain vile, it is a bit of a stretch to label either of them a "chickenhawk."

He's going to get a LOT richer if he wins the election!
Watching the video, I was both impressed and appalled by the skilful use of iconic imagery. Thank god he didn't use "The Grand Canyon Suite" for the score! The whole thing reached a level of manipulation that was shockingly cynical. This person should be kept away from any public office.

A swarmy little Railroad Commissioner in Texas is going to stand up to the President? On what?

I expect we'll be reading about his extra martial sins sometime soon. Or Worse!
