I always say belief systems are like fantasies. You can't prove any of it and saying "I believe" makes people think they don't have to justify it with facts. A very worthless statement.

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia grew up poor in a very small town. Like everyone else in town, apparently the young boy was in the KKK briefly. Then he managed to leave the little town, go to college and graduate school, and earn a law degree. By the time he was a Senator, decades ago, Robert Byrd had shown a great ability to learn, change, and grow. He helped to strengthen civil rights for Black people and social justice in general. These people get him mixed up with another Senator from the old days, horribly racist Senator (Harry?) Byrd of Virginia, a scion of wealth and an advocate of extremely right-wing reactionary policies. I would not be surprised to learn that THIS Senator Byrd was some kind of KKK leader. Robert Byrd was not. That is why he and Joe Biden were friends.

That crazy woman says something like that at one point. Apparently, they have not read the part of the Old Testament where God warns the Israelites that ditching their system of democratically elected representatives for a king will only lead to tyranny.

Know your enemy.

I do not believe these people are my enemies but they are enemies of democracy.

Maybe sane people will make sure they vote so we quit getting insane choices.

I distinctly remember sitting in front of the TV when I was a kid saying, "I DO believe in fairies" when Tinkerbell almost died. (The "boomers" here will understand). I believed big time. So where are they??

we can start by using Trump support as a reliable indicator of mental illness.
