(1,186 posts)For giving us 6 more years of this great man. I could listen to his floor speeches all day long. He just tells the truth, a real rarity in Washington. I love how he politely tells Lloyd Blankfein to go fuck himself. I would not be so polite.

(62,325 posts)He is one of the great members of the Senate who is fighting a lonely battle for Democratic principles and for this Country. I just wish more Democrats would get behind him. Why don't they? What is wrong with them? He never fails to articulate clearly the facts or to call out the liars. But he always seems to be alone. We have to fix that.

(62,325 posts)Bernie pays attention to the unbelievable behavior of Wall Street failures like Welfare King Lloyd Blankfein. Where are Dems on this?
What Bernie is talking about is the coalition of CEOs, those poor, put upon, victims who received huge bailouts from the American people because they FAILED. Why were they bailed out? Why were they not allowed to fail??
Now, after WE THE PEOPLE bailed them out, this is what they are up to. They have formed a coalition of 80 other greedy bastards like themselves and are in DC demanding that poor widows and orphans should have their small pittance that they receive from a fund THEY OWN, CUT.
This is beyond unconscionable. Where is the outrage from every single Democratic Senator? Why is it only Bernie Sanders??
This is what Bernie is so outraged over:
CEO Council Demands Cuts To Poor, Elderly While Reaping Billions In Government Contracts, Tax Breaks
Bastard, criminal, liar, cheat. Why is this nasty crook even taken seriously in a country that claims to be civilized?
Thank YOU Bernie for expressing the appropriate outrage at the gall of this Corporate Welfare King who is, thanks to the American people he now wants to starve to death, obscenely wealthy.
How about we get him used to 'expecting less'?
We are not being represented. If we were, this moron would have been arrested for what he and his buddies did to the world economy.

(3,576 posts)in cuts to health care, medicare, veterans care, and social security. That's forty billion a year. We've been sold out before the negotiations even get started. Meanwhile the Senate voted to end the Afghan war as "soon as possible" with lot's of Republican support too.

(62,325 posts)Deficit. I hope the big Coalition that was formed knows about this and I hope people get out in the streets and scare the shit out of them for this.
Unbelievable. And so we were told that Obama was just playing chess when he put those programs on the table. I swear if Dems cut SS, that will be it for me. It's time to find candidates who are Independent of parties to support and start replacing those who consistently betray the people who elected them.

(762 posts)I'm sure you'll not be the only to feel that way. The Dems in my family & circle of friend's are already saying that very same thing.

(594 posts)instrumental in that being done, he will be forced to leave the country, and I'm not even sure that will be enough. There are people ready to go to war over this now! Many are in the other two Parties. When a government steals what is rightfully yours, it is time to END that government.

(20,219 posts)it was SO CLEAR! No need for bullshitting.
Reminds me of some garbage I read on a conservative site I came across (sorry, don't remember what it was. It was for the smart, sociopathic wing of the puke party, not the hateful, dumb kkkristian, blame illegals wing.) Great sound and fury, signifying nothing!

(9,298 posts)Blankfein was on TV, and my first reaction was "WHY??" I consider him an outright criminal. But if people nationwide heard what he said about lowering expectations, maybe that's a good thing. There's no confusion about his words, and they should scare the living hell out of people.
Bernie ..... Blankfein....honestly, there's a picture of good vs. evil if I ever saw one.

(5,610 posts)Doesn't it say a lot when our biggest advocate refuses to join a party?
I first saw him years ago on teevee. He was a guest at an inner city school, educating the kids on politics and their rights.
There is no doubt that he would be one of the greatest progressive presidents in our nations history.
How does an honest man, full of progressive ideals, become president in a post CU country?
We the people are the only way. If you want the best, you have to work hard for it.

(5,106 posts)Living for over twenty years as the wife of a manger/executive level guy, I know there are advantages and perks that the average "wage slave" can't imagine. This on top of bonuses (which often apply to just doing your job, rather than screwing up). Now it seems these major financial guys can even FAIL, yet take us taxpayers for the money that they accept as their due and resent going to the truly needy. Outsource jobs to slave laborers..no shame, huge profits.

(5,106 posts)Living in the Pittsburgh area: box seats at Steelers, Penguins, Pirate games. Box seats can range from rather cold, concrete bunkers with folding chairs and BYO food and drinks (but great views of the action ), to unbelievable luxury boxes with bars, catered food, plush living room seating, TVs for all angles of the game. AND a balcony overlooking the field or arena for those actually following he game. Such jaunts were often accompanied by an overnight at a major hotel and dinner at a super restaurant, All of this was over twenty years ago. It's just that this was on only a high management level. Even though a lot has changed at the mid-level, if the jobs still exist, the perks these CEO's get in addition to more money than they could ever spend needs to be considered. They probably don't pay a cent for vacations and entertainment BESIDES the outrageous bucks they haul in.
