Jim Jordan Goes Completely Nuts After Being Called Out For Lying - Farron Balanced

Jim Jordan went completely bonkers during a House hearing this week after he was called for lying about his views on defunding the FBI. Jordan insisted, after Democratic Representative Madeleine Dean suggested that he wanted to cut funding for the organization, that he had never said that, even though he said it a few moments before she pointed it out. Jordan then went on a tirade about an FBI proposal that never actually happened. Farron Cousins explains what's going on.

During a hearing this week, Jim Jordan became very belligerent and irate after it was pointed out by Democratic representative Madeline Dean that Jim Jordan had in fact called for defunding the F B I. Now, during this hearing, Jim Jordan was bringing up an issue where he claims the f b I was planning to go and spy on members of a Catholic church because they were worried that some of the extremists in that church, the pro-life extremists, uh, may commit acts of domestic terrorism. For the record, Jim Jordan openly admitted the F b I didn't even do this. They had thought about it and then decided not to, but just thinking about it alone is enough to make Jim Jordan off and he went into his tirade and then got called out and things got crazier from there. So take a look at what happened during that hearing. Jim Jordan getting super because he got called out on his lies. Here it is.

It seems to me that it is very clear you support defunding the fbi.

I didn't say that. I said we gotta look at one of the things we do in this, in this, this business, in this Congress is you look at how you appropriate funds and we will have recommendations going to the appropriations Committee about how they should use American, the people I represent in the fourth District of Ohio, the numerous Catholics I represent in the fourth District of Ohio, they ha they have a say in how their money is spent. We are certainly gonna look at that. If you don't want to, if you just wanna keep sending money to the FBI that's spying on people in church, go right ahead and take that position. The Republicans on this committee will not, and we're gonna look at it. You may not want to, but we do. We do. And I, I guarantee, I bet you have. I bet you have Catholics in your district who want you to look at it. I know I do. And that's what we plan on doing with that. I yield back to the chair.

I never said that. I never said that, but you did say that, buddy. You in fact, um, if, if you check the link and the description of this video, you can watch the full clip about a minute and a half before you exclaim. I never said that you actually called for cutting funding to the F B I, not a hundred percent, but taking some of their money away. So you not only have said it in the past, you said it right before Madeline Dean called you out for saying it, and then you're like, I never said that, but you did.

Here's the other part of this story. As I said, Jim Jordan's all worked up over an F B I idea that actually never even came to fruition that he got from an already discredited whistleblower within the organization. So all of this anger and animosity is based on something that didn't ever actually happen, which Jim Jordan also acknowledged earlier in his tirade. You are off about a thing that wasn't real, basically. But the reason the f b I was even considering it was based on tips that they had received. The f b I didn't just sit there and decide, you know what? Let's go pick on a random Catholic church today. That's not what happened, Jim, but that's how you are portraying it. That's what you want the people of the country to think that the FBI just woke up and said, you know what?

I'm bored. Let's throw a dart at a map of the US and wherever it lands, we'll go harass a Catholic church. That's not what happened. They had received intelligence that there could be credible threats against abortion clinics, and that's why they were considering sending people in to monitor the activity taking place in that church. It wasn't an assault on religion. They were trying to prevent an assault on the American public, but ultimately determined that those threats that they had received or the tips were not gonna go anywhere. So they decided against it. But we're living in a country right now. We're all day every day. You hear from conservative media and conservative politicians that Democrats are weak on crime, right? The Democrats are letting crime run rampant in our country, and those very same Republicans turn around in the same breath and say, let's cut funding for the top law enforcement agency of the United States.
