(206,957 posts)I really don't get it - how can anyone stand to listen to this offensive blowhard, let alone want to see or hear more from him and be willing to vote for him for president! The last time was enough of a nightmare, Americans died of Covid and he tried to overthrow the government! Back in 2016 I couldn't wait for the election to be over so we'd never have to see or hear from him again - and here we are, he lost by even more in 2020, yet this disgraced, twice impeached, indicted seditionist is still dominating the news all these years later!
And thanks for the link!

(193 posts)I feel the same anxiety developing when he becomes the center of the news. He is only concerned for himself and the praises of his followers.

(36,240 posts)for profit, over those who want strongmen. Mafia, fascist power. Performed in makeup.
It's also about his open criminality, which strongman rulers think is okay. There is no turning back for trumpculters, and the non-party oligarch tools of Congress will do what their big oil & gas and other owner/donors say, which is: establish rule of men over rule of law.
imo, Lawrence is saying it's okay for CNN to try to keep up horserace politics, but they should just do it better.
I don't agree with him. I'm stunned that he even thinks CNN wants to practice journalism. He and Ari Melber have differences in that regard.
I wish we could get full episodes from MSNBC. The segment with Mehdi Hasan and Charles Blow is worth the time.

(206,957 posts)And I'm continually frustrated since Lawrence often has the very best guests and discussions, but they fail to make them available. I'm shocked when I see Andrew Weissmann interviewed in another segment, since he's so often - and excellent - on with Lawrence, but his appearance is almost never available.

(36,240 posts)It could be that he doesn't want MSNBC to put him out on YouTube; still I've seen a few, but there are none from the prime time night episodes.

(206,957 posts)But he's frequently on with Lawrence, often him with Neal Katyal, who are excellent, but they don't upload their interviews.

(36,240 posts)The 26:13 mark starts the discussion with Weissman over the evidence, and how Jack Smith would use it.

(206,957 posts)And I had that exact same thought throughout all yesterday's reporting on his disastrous performance. He gave an abundance of additional evidence to Jack Smith, who is likely running the tape and taking notes!
