(58,389 posts)The U.S. military has made a sacred commitment to leave no one behind on the battlefield. This ethos is even embedded in the Airman's Creed (I will never leave an airman behind) and the Soldier's Creed (I will never leave a fallen comrade).Aug 24, 2020

With Bernie it's to leave no one behind in regards to American standard of living.
One thing is for sure too many billionaires and their paid for minions aren't looking to those left behind.

(23,334 posts)medical bills because were self insured (were self employed) and deductibles and copays are ridiculous. I currently pay $2000 a month for health insurance for my family of three we have a $4000 per person deductible in addition to that. Thats the best we can get in Montana. Theres no health insurance competition here.

(453 posts)The actual unskilled labor min wage is 21.xx in dollars, they pay an actual income tax rate of 35.9 % and sales tax ( vat ) is 25%, food vat is 15%.
A little math 21.50 an hour, you work 40 hours and you make 860 bucks a week. The taxes is 308.74 a week that leaves 551.26 a week ( or 2205 a month ). If you spend a 100 a week on food plus vat, your down to 436.26. spend 75 more living with vat thats 93.75, leaving 342.51 a week for everything else like rent a car if you want one, electric ( 171 a month ). Or 1199 a month before rent.
Average rent is 952 a month, the one that surprised me is the average down payment for an apt is 3-6 months.
So min wage you could live, but you wont have much to spare. The average cost of living is 2176 a month on the low end. At this point the only benefit I see is free health care, as you wont have much money after taxes and rent and such.
