Why Are There No Timely DOJ/Federal Indictments of Trump & Company: An Insider's Perspective

Donald Trump and many of his corrupt associates have committed crimes in plan sight. Yet there has not been a single federal indictment. There are a number of institutional reasons that the Department of Justice often takes longer than is optimal to indict cases.

On the other hand, most of us can probably remember that it takes much less time to put together a 500-word essay than a 50-page term paper, let alone a 500 page thesis.

And we didn't even have to religiously keep silence regarding the term paper until it was finished.

That's to trust Merrick Garland. This isn't some mediocre run-of-the-mill investigation. Not even just an important one. It's outside the bounds on known history. It's not going to be an open and shut case because of the office being investigated. This has never happened before, though in some cases it should have. It's going to take time, and it's going to require certainty beyond any reasonable doubt.

I'd much rather see a thorough investigation and airtight case built that he can't possibly squirm out of in any way. So I am, for now, content to wait. I mean, really, what choice is there?
