Johnny Reb?

Why did they call themselves "Rebels"? Why did the Federal Government call them "Confederates"? Why did they disavow allegiance to America and the Stars and Stripes? Why were they glorified with songs and stories and statues?

My people fought on the Union side in the guerrilla actions in Missouri. My great great grandfather Patrick was in the Second Missouri Militia and saw battle at least once, and his brother John was in the 5th Missouri State Militia Cavalry. They saw heavy action throughout the war.

Warrensburg, where they had their farms, was on the bloody border with Kansas, and that whole border region had fighting from 1858 through around 1866, because the war didn't end for our guys in Missouri when Lee surrendered clear in Virginia. Missouri became the outlaw state.

Civil war is miserable. I have documents from my own family showing just how miserable it was, how horrible. Those 'rebels' were traitors to this nation then, and anyone who wants a civil war now is a traitor. Trump is a traitor. McConnell is a traitor. Lindsey Graham is a traitor. The whole stinking batch, including Louie Gohmert and Cory Gardner, Ken Buck and the rest. Disgusting.

These secessionists in 1860 left and fought because they wanted to keep a whole segment of our population enslaved. It cost 400,000 lives in the Civil War alone, let alone the Jim Crow period after the traitor Nathan Bedford Forrest founded the Klan and began to terrorize the 'free' black people.

Now we have this clown Trump wanting to save Confederate statues because 'its our heritage?' He's just throwing shit against the wall to hide his treason with Putin and the bounties, his treason against us with Ukraine, his guilt at so mismanaging the pandemic that it is now out of control. And LET US NEVER FORGET the children torn from their parents and thrown in filthy for-profit cages. THAT is genocide.

Ironic that Trump wants to bring back the death penalty for federal crimes, because you know what? He really should hang.

Never in the time of this nation has treason been so blatant. And blatantly unpunished, yet.
