Benjamin Netanyahu: Iran Containment SUPPORTERS 'Set A New Standard For HUMAN STUPIDITY'

Beat the war drums!

HuffingtonPost:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out against those who have suggested a policy of containment would work in the case of nuclear Iran.

"Iran is guided by a leadership with an unbelievable fanaticism," he told NBC's David Gregory, in an interview that will air on Sunday's Meet The Press. "You want these fanatics to have nuclear weapons?" He denounced the notion that going to war with Iran would be worse than a nuclear Iran.

I mean I heard some people suggest, David, I actually read this in the American press. They said, "Well, you know, if you take action, that's a lot worse than having Iran with nuclear weapons." Some have even said that Iran with nuclear weapons would stabilize the Middle East, stabilize the Middle East. I think the people who say this have set a new standard for human stupidity.

Netanyahu has offered plenty of tough talk about Iran lately. Last week, he attacked the U.S.'s policies towards Iran, saying, "those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don't have a moral right to place a red light before Israel."

That a client state is entitled to try to embroil its "ally" in a third unwinnable south Asian land war.

Mr. Netanyahu, call up your Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Saakashvili. Ask him how that plan worked out for him.

Spoiler alert: It didn't

promoting this type of beating of war drums? We all know that America will protect Israel by any means necessary, even BiBi knows that. Over the world our Embassies are being attacked, our military are being killed and we just lost 4 personnel from Libya Embassy and he has the nerve to try and make the American government look like pussies? Fuck you BiBi!

... is perhaps the most frequently-used libel in history. It most often used by the accuser to justify acts of mass violence against their designated enemies.
To assert that the Iranian government is bent on destroying themselves and their country in order to get at Israel is to assert that they are something less than human. This preposterous argument can be summed up in a single theme: "Those people are EVIL and we have no choice but to attack and kill them".
Netanyahu seems to have a serious problem recognizing the difference between diplomacy and hydrophobia.

Bibi, Romney and the neo-cons will rule this country with the help of John Bolton. Oh the horrors! They scare me more than Romney himself. We have GOT to win!

We have to eliminate nuclear weapons globally, this escalation is bad.

I do not believe a word that comes out of his mouth. I do not know why the Israelis keep him in office because he uses the same propaganda of keeping them safe just like Bush/Cheney did to keep themselves in power.

who have lost a loved one under their "keeping them safe" double talk propaganda. Bibi is pushing the fear buttons once again knowing full well his leverage of opportunity ceases after November 6th.

He is interfering with the coming elections to advance his neocon agenda and he knows it all too well.

The subject line is incorrect, he didn't say:

Iran Containment SUPPORTERS 'Set A New Standard For HUMAN STUPIDITY'

He said:
Some have even said that Iran with nuclear weapons would stabilize the Middle East, stabilize the Middle East. I think the people who say this have set a new standard for human stupidity.

And he's right, there are intelligent people who think containment is preferable to war, but it's not going to stabilize the situation at all, it will result in increased escalation and proliferation and probably nuclear war.

We have to eliminate nuclear weapons globally.
Iran is going in the wrong direction, they are making things worse.

While saying that Iran is going in the wrong direction yet defending Netanyahu's irrational stance without regards to diplomacy is antithetical to the so called peace that some are defending with the use OF FORCE.... Israel has no right to tell ANYONE what they can or cannot do unless they are being attacked and the last time I checked Iran hasn't attacked ANYONE in at LEAST 50-100 years so lets look at the facts:
Iran is a legitimate member of the IAEA and has complied with the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Leon Panetta stated just a week or two ago that Iran is "Up to ONE YEAR away from enrichment capabilities" with regards to WEAPONIZED nuclear power (key word "weaponized&quot And one last thing:
Israeli PM Netanyahu is given a microphone on CNN to espouse his view yet nobody else is allowed to counter that view. Personally to me that indicates something else is going on here because American media is NOT showing us the entire story, so I'd suggest doing a little international research before claiming that "he's right", because if war DOES break out in the region you will see how "wrong" he was, but by then it will be too late because Iran isn't Iraq; the Iranian people are VERY smart and you can bet they will unite, especially since most of their population is 30-40 years old and younger. It's stunningly amazing to me that Israel isn't a member of the IAEA and REFUSED to sign the NPT yet points the finger at other countries who want to use nuclear power for medical and energy purposes yet instead of looking at BOTH sides many, many people cite religion as the one and only reason to defend Israel. There are countries more unstable than Iran with nuclear WEAPONS (not the "want to build them" tripe) like Pakistan and India who NOBODY TALKS ABOUT so what about them? Really?
