Face The Nation: Swalwell says House has evidence of "extortion scheme" by Trump

So glad they are starting to use better words than "quid pro quo"!

"quid pro quo" and his mouth looks so anus like when he says it. Why change now?

2. Because it sounds pretentious and lots of Americans don't know what it means. But,

they know what extortion is.

3. exactly

people understand -- "be a shame if your house burned down .." ---- "be a shame if your country got invaded ..."

lay it out there like it really went down.

4. Trump is getting even more sloppy and desperate. This list of criminal acts is just going to keep

growing. He has no impulse control, he is desperate, he is stupid and he has no morality. The perfect cocktail for disaster on his part.

5. "NO QUID PRO QUO.....NO QUID PRO QUO!"

I wish a reporter or someone would yell back to Trump, you're right. It was downright extortion.

Quid pro quo involves both parties getting something from the other that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Ukraine already was granted that money. Trump is right! "NO QUID PRO QUO!"

6. Extortion, bribery, witness intimidation

I'd hammer those home every opportunity. Impeachment and trial have components of public image and public opinion, advising politics. The more that all the blatant criminal acts can be embedded in public consciousness, the more plausible conviction becomes.

Wouldn't hurt to see Guiliani indicted and deemed a flight risk in that regard. Wouldn't hurt for House committees to issue subpoenas, even if enforcement is a non-starter in practical terms. Subpoena is a term associated with criminal prosecution in the public arena, reinforcing the image.

Long-term, whether Senate convicts or not, painting the whole Administration and its supporters as a criminal organization acting in a criminal manner to criminally cover up criminal acts, creates a stark moral choice for voters in 2020. You'll never bleed off the kool-ade level support, but uniting the other 70% of the country with a moral imperative to VOTE ought to be enough.
