Boomers! Remember this? Everyone else: check it out!

From the description by "Rhino" on YouTube:

Many Boomers tried. We lived through hell and it annoys me when some say we are selfish or don't understand.
When my daughter complained I said, "do you worry about National guard troops coming on campus and killing you for protesting?
What if someone assassinated Obama?" She's older now. She gets it.

This was before Trump. I hope we can recover from this. Resist!!!

We helped to break through so many barriers, sometimes in big ways and sometimes in small ways, but boomers did that. So much of the progress we see today was initiated by boomers, and yes, it annoys me too when some people characterize an entire group as self-serving and selfish.

I always loved this song. There were so many great songs of our generation that spoke to the injustices in our country. Music is and always will be a reflection of a generation and it is as much a part of a generation's history as any other cultural phenomenon.

Before YouTube. Even before cable tv and even videocassettes, my parents played the 33 RPM soundtracks of movies like this. It’s why my dad bought a stereo console. We’d listen to these soundtracks, and then when the movies came around — in one format or another — I’d watch, just to see what images were paired to songs like this. I feel richer for the experience, and certainly hope these songs and movies are not lost to current and future generations.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go chase some kids off my lawn. (Just wish they’d be willing to share their weed with this old fart!)
