Trump has been calling on the Justice Department to prosecute his political opponents – over a couple Fox News scandals involving a uranium deal and the financing of the DNC.

2. what on earth is the criminal allegation regarding financing of the dnc?

my understanding is that they're stretching to find something unethical or contrary to democratic values or contrary to how a fair primary should be run or something.

but the democratic party is not a governmental institution, it's a 501(c) organization, and it can make whatever contracts and deals it wants. legally speaking, i do think they need to hold elections at all, they can just choose their nominee by drawing straws or arm-wrestling of a dance-off. legally speaking, it can be fair or not.

i'm not taking a view in this thread on the ethical question, there are plenty of other threads for that.

i'm just wondering what they think there is to prosecute, because i haven't heard of anything that comes close to anything criminal.
