(2,968 posts)The station is crappy, but Thom Hartman is a good liberal and this segment with Greg Palast is very informative and a good watch.

(58,785 posts)I am a good liberal and, while we share many of the same large ideals and goals, Hartmann goes where I never would in pursuing them. Such as partnering with RT.
And in this case (posted on DU!), presenting a man who, among many other abuses, claimed Hillary Clinton committed a number of genuine crimes, including stealing the California election and getting FBI ex-director Comey to purge incriminating emails, clearing the way for her "path to power." That in itself is an egregious fake-news crime and good liberals don't do fake news except to monitor its purveyors, among whom is Palast.
Btw, Thom Hartmann identifies himself as a "middle" radical, not a liberal, which I won't disagree with much. My observations, though, are that radicals holding middle positions tend to still display the same personality characteristics and behaviors of radical holding positions well out of the mainstream.
Hartmann's practically built his career feeding anti-Democratic Party views under the guise of concern for need to reform, but to me the usual radical rejection of what mainstream liberal Democrats are, what we always have been, and we always will be because there are so many of us, is always evident. Sad, because we always have had so many goals in common.

(12,701 posts)RT has been frequently described as a propaganda outlet for the Russian government[13][14][15] and its foreign policy.[13][15][16][17][18][19] RT has also been accused of spreading disinformation[19][20][21] by news reporters,[22][23] including some former RT reporters,[24][25][26] The United Kingdom media regulator, Ofcom, has repeatedly found RT to have breached rules on impartiality, and of broadcasting "materially misleading" content.

They are many other progressives to listen to on economic issues who have much more credibility.
