GOP Congressman: People who lead good lives should pay less than those with pre-existing condition

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/republican-people-who-lead-good-lives-should-pay-less-than-those-with-pre-existing-conditions/

"Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) on Monday argued against a health care plan that protects people with pre-existing conditions, insisting “people who lead good lives’ and “have done the things to keep their bodies healthy” should received reduced costs for healthcare.

Trump vowed to protect people with pre-existing conditions in an interview with Bloomberg News on Monday. “I want it to be good for sick people. It’s not in its final form right now,” the president said. “It will be every bit as good on pre-existing conditions as Obamacare.”

Republicans’ first attempt to pass an Obamacare replacement plan failed in a dramatic fashion in March after moderate Republicans refused to support a bill that didn’t include those protections..."

How fucking stupid and heartless can you be? This is wrong on so many levels I don't even know where to start.

I guess he's figured out what causes all those nasty diseases out there like cancer, ALS, MS, Alzheimer's etc so he knows how to avoid contracting them. He should share all his wisdom with the medical community so they can stop wasting their time trying to figure it out.

As far as I can tell, he's not fat or drunk, so I had to replace the words with some that were more appropriate.

I don't know how these people sleep at night.

The Secret is a book that puts forth the theory that people (mostly poor people) somehow deserve the bad things that happen to them. Poor people are poor because they cannot control their impulses and spend their resources on things that don't benefit them like gambling, drink, drugs, etc (never mind the fact that no one can afford to take care of their family on minimum-wage).

But people who are well-to-do financially are that way because God (or the powers that be) likes them and and is blessing them with prosperity. This book was a best-seller for several weeks during the mid-00s, if I remember correctly...

It's total bullshit that allows the prosperous to feel good about themselves (even if they are war criminals) while poor-shaming the less fortunate!
