Dr Timothy Snyder is brilliant!

"Believe in the Truth.. Without Truth We Don't Have Trust.. Without Trust We Don't Have the Rule of Law.. Without the Rule of Law We Don't Have Democracy.

So people who are going for Post Fact.. people who are Against the Truth.. they are taking a Direct Line to Killing Democracy.. It's the Shortcut to getting rid of Democracy.."

Who does that remind you of.. right fucking now?

There's more.. please watch!

Incumbent Paul von Hindenburg won the election for president, and at 84 years old had run mostly to keep Hitler out of the office. The Nazis had the most seats in parliament, but not enough to form a governing majority. However, as part of the maneuvering to get a working majority, Hindenburg appointed Hilter as chancellor. (The idea was that having actual governing responsibilities would "tame" him.) Even after the Riechstag fire and suppression of the communists, the Nazis didn't get a majority in the elections the following month. It took about another year and a half to suppress remains opposition, finally combining the presidency and chancellorship after Hindenburg's death in 1934.

But the larger point made remains: they used the structures and procedures of a democratic government to subvert it and seize total power.
