Economists and the Public Still Agree: Bernie Sanders Is The Best Candidate

A new study finds that Senator Bernie Sanders’ plans for the economy would implement a tremendous amount of growth. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

3. The HRC Group Banned Me For This Type Of Comment

Mar 2016

When I pointed out the truth, the HRC group banned me.

Two quick questions:

1) If our oldest and strongest ally, the UK, can provide universal healthcare, why can't we? If our largest trading partner, Canada, can provide universal healthcare, why can't we?

2) If Sanders' plan for free tuition at public colleges and universities is unworkable, why did a prestigious study by the University of Massachusetts just certify that it would be a boon and why did the City of Detroit, MI just institute something similar?

"Harry Truman had a famous quip about economists. He said:

Give me a one-handed economist! All my economists say, 'on one hand ... on the other.'"

http://www.businessinsider.com/yellen-two-handed-economist-joke-2014-8

And those that take a firm position often find themselves debated by others, e.g., Krugman vs. U of Chicago neoclassicists.

will be willing to pass a whole SET of reforms that would be required for our system to more closely resemble those in the UK, Norway, Japan, Canada, or others with lower costs and better health outcomes?

A major problem in our system is that prices for pharmaceuticals, hospital stays, getting tests using some major medical equipment (e.g., MRI machines) are much higher than in other countries. Medicare is not permitted to negotiate many of these costs, and in the US price controls (other than private insurers' reimbursement rates for preferred provider orgs.) are rarely used.

These are just a few examples of answers to your question of "why can't we"?

Also, this post is in Video & Multimedia, and not in the HRC group or the BS group, both of which can restrict the types of posts to a greater extent than the V & M forum. So it is very likely that what you consider "truth" violated the group's rules on posting.

Between you and me, the way to mess up fried clams is to undercook them, so that the batter coating is pale and not crispy. After that, it's a matter of how good your sauces are.

But...look who I am telling! LOL! I have a noive.

What did you like about Woodman's clams? (I've never been.)

Which reminds me, I think a trip up to Rockport is way overdue.

And how do you know that economists in general agree? Has there been a poll, weighted by some type of quality measure of the economists' work?

Anecdotally, certainly other economists that I have read do not agree with this assertion.
