(5,069 posts)7. I was in Houston winter 2014
to attend my uncle's funeral in Lake Charles, La. All that I can say is that I was told NOT to drink the water in Lake Charles area (to be specific, the small town of Sulphur, La.). Coincidentally, the entire area from Houston to Sulphur, La. smelled like Sulphur fumes. Was also told that people in Houston were told not to drink the water.....That entire part of the US is one big toxic waste site.....I do feel sorry for the residents but they long ago were colonized and have few choices now.
