At least it's official that "top-level" government agencies are actively after Occupy. Who gave them the orders?

(200 posts)Fortunately the FBI has such a pitiful reputation of competency the public mind I don't think that they can do serious harm to occupy.

(88 posts)the investigators? Must we simply accept that what the FBI says is true? NO I heard parts of an interview on Pacifica with a person who lives in the house where these gents were supposedly tracked down. Among other things that the FBI packed off as "bomb making supplies" was home brew BEER making stuff. Many years ago my Dad was busted for something to do with Moonshine whiskey. At that time prosecutors and cops hauled off all his home photography developing stuff! Personally, I have never trusted cops of any stripe not to lie...it's what they do.

(20,317 posts)overlap with Wall Street's interests. And how quickly people in the corporate media will color a movement by the alleged actions of a few.
Meanwhile, real domestic terrorism (abortion clinic bombings and arsons, other right-wing shootings) are just minor issues, and always-- always-- carried out by "lone wolves" who don't reflect on the right at all.

(53,661 posts)Interests of America as a whole and we toss our blood and treasure, taking other nations' blood and treasure and say it's for 'National Security.' Or is it dressed up corporate 'security' to protect their right to business as they please in the world?
Do we accept the idea of an American Empire that uses euphemistic language for what was once called looting and pillaging? Is there a way of thinking that makes the war profiteers' actions worthy of our respect?
Do they and their millions supporters believe that the other nations of the world should give into our 'Might Makes Right' in the world? Are they really protecting us, by securing the resources they are taking?
Because I believe deep down some Americans really do support the wars to maintain their standard of living. I know that not everyone is losing their homes, their health care, their jobs over these wars.
Some are doing quite well. And while their bellies are full, whatever is done can be rationalized. The violence being done to our democratic values is not important to them, such issues as abortion and human rights don't effect them. Really, they don't feel any concern about it. IMHO.
I apologize if I went off topic to your reply, but I'm thinking out loud and I hope it applies to the OP in regards to the war on terror being extended to the home base against people who are trying to help our democracy.
