Somehow the raw mic feed from Adele's "SNL" performance appears to have found its way online, and it's pretty incredible. You can hear the faint instrumentals in the background, but besides that it's the pure vocals

(72,790 posts)She's such a boring artist, imo. I think her songs sound pretty much the same, and they're all very annoying. Lol

(13,114 posts)Not a raw mic feed. Vocals are processed w fx and there is bass.
Im not a big fan but she does sound good.

You don't have to like it and I'm not a huge fan but give her credit for real talent compared to most contemporary pop singers. She can do it without pitch correction too. She is a superb singer who needs better material.

I don't like opera but I concede Jessye Norman can sing.
I've been a musician for 40 years. The combination of power, dead on intonation (no pitch correction needed), phrasing, ornamentation, and soulfulness Adele commands is rare. I don't like her songs much but objectively she's among the finest vocal talents in modern popular music.
Singers think so. I'm one.

(153,311 posts)I just do NOT like how she sounds....I had to turn it off very quickly...I did not like Amy Winehouse's chops either.

I really admire that, though if I were professionally trained, I'd choose a more folksy style. Hey, while I'm at it, I wished I'd learned how to play guitar better.

(4,762 posts)I sang and played in bands for a living for a decade. I've played behind a million singers. I know chops when I hear them.
Adele can knock it out alone on a stage with an acoustic guitar and no pitch correction or effects required. She's so far from a Taylor Swift it ain't funny. She can sing her ass off, love or hate the music.

Seriously, you can't get people to open up to music appreciation, I can see. I have the same time with people in my family. Some of them can, others just like what speaks to them. Personally, I think the more you examine, the better you appreciate it.
