3. This was a BRILLIANT segment. I know for a fact that one of the major companies

in town FIRED SEVERAL EMPLOYEES a few years back over an inappropriate e-mail that was shared. Everyone include the original sender and those who forwarded it were terminated. There was another long-time employee at my own company that was fired, again as the result of an inappropriate e-mail.

This is not really a case of corporations just doing good for the sake of doing good - this is about potential litigation on the part of anyone that might be targeted in one of these shitty e-mails. Corporations need to cover their own ass to prevent legal action.

FUCK FOX NEWS for trying to suggest that this shit happens all over America. Does Murdoch encourage this shit? It really makes you wonder...

Sexism is condoned at FOX and their affiliates so why not racism?

My daughter worked for a local FOX affiliate news channel for about 3 months after college. The verbal sexual harassment and sexism was jaw dropping. It went on daily and no one, not even the stupid women who worked there for years, felt it was out of the ordinary. I wanted her to file sexual harassment charges against them. She was a paid intern and was hoping to get a paid job. But of course, they passed her over (she was too smart). She wouldn't file charges. I told her she could own them if she did. But she didn't want to go through the additional emotional stress, though she did confront the manager about it before she quit.

Anyway, they are so blind to sexual harassment that they are probably worse about racism. It's a whole other culture at FOX. It's like working back in the 1800s only with modern technology.

7. I absolutely do believe that in many companies, this is normal.

Only in the companies that have a strong business relationship with Federal government would there be the kind of stringent enforcement that Rachel speaks of.

And outside of the workforce, we have generations of older Americans who think this is normal. And, as they are allowed to get away with a great many indiscretions, as often happens, they infect the younger generations who believe they are setting the example.

8. I have NEVER had a co-worker send a racist email to me ever...

I've been with the same company for over 22 years; started with them when there were only 30 employees and now we have over 300, and not a single time did I receive a racist email. NOT once (even when it was a small shop)!

11. This NOT a Normal Workplace Practice

I just turned 75. In my life, I have worked for a large Federal agency, for IBM, for a large credit bureau, and for a contractor of training programs. I have been using email since email became a thing. I even live in large Southern State. In all those years, I have never encountered such ugly racist rants committed to email or even printed correspondence.

If this is normal practice where you work, your company, agency, whatever, has serious problems.

When we are critical of Bill O'Reilly, it's because he's a blowhard and pathological liar.

When we are critical of Sean Hannity, it's due to his cowardice and wild conspiracy theories.

When the Freepers are critical of Rachel Maddow, (I seldom see anyone critical of her here,) it looks like this:
"That dyke looks like a guy, hurr hurr hurr..."

I'd say that speaks volumes about Rachel's credibility, and her competition.
