Both Voyager probes had radio astronomy packages that picked up the radio sounds emitted by the ring systems. It was carried on the NASA channel on our cable system. I remember sitting in wonder, listening and thinking how many generations of astronomers would have died happy if they could have seen the sights and heard the sounds from the Voyagers.

What was the mass media news carrying? "Who shot JR?" This was one of the many points when my contempt for mass media and what passes for 'news' reached a new low.
