Those who condemn labor unions should be reminded that, following the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings on Sept. 11, 2001, proud union workers of the New York Fire Department, New York Police Department and Iron Workers Local 40 ran toward the Twin Towers to search for survivors, while investment bankers, corporate attorneys and business executives fled for their lives.
