There Republicans go again, siding with thugs
The Republican Party has completed its transition from the law and order party to the party of thugs, violence and harassment.
Eight Senate Republicans Cynthia M. Lummis (Wyo.), Mike Lee (Utah), James Lankford (Okla.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Kevin Cramer (N.D.), Ted Cruz (Tex.), John Hoeven (N.D.) and Rick Scott (Fla.) wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday to protest the creation of a no-fly list for passengers who lash out at airline personnel attempting to enforce mask requirements. They claim the list would seemingly equate them to terrorists who seek to actively take the lives of Americans and perpetrate attacks on the homeland.
Seemingly. Only defenders of anti-mask thuggery would be unable to make the simple distinction between the two categories.
In reality, the problem of violence against airline personnel and disruptive conduct requiring pilots to turn flights around has become pervasive. Thats why Delta Air Lines chief executive Ed Bastian asked Garland earlier this month to address the problem by creating the no-fly list.
The only surprise here is that Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), who went berserk over Garlands vow to investigate threats and violence against school board members, did not also sign the letter. He, along with a slew of other Republican senators recently accused Garland in grossly misleading letter of policing the speech of citizens and concerned parents. Right-wing media picked up the issue as well, claiming that parents were being labeled as domestic terrorists.

Tit for Tat. Just my honest opinion.

headlines a la the Canadian Truckers. And in stirring up this shit the economy gets hurt, or more
people get C-19, or people's lives are disrupted then that is just a bonus because "they*" are
planing on blaming it all on Biden anyways.
Sens. Cynthia M. Lummis (Wyo.), Mike Lee (Utah), James Lankford (Okla.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Kevin Cramer (N.D.), Ted Cruz (Tex.), John Hoeven (N.D.) and Rick Scott (Fla.) are actively working to make Americans to hurt ... rinse lather and repeat.

Or something close to it.

(49,148 posts)If anyone should be on it, that would be thugs, because there is evidence and public evidence of their unsuitability to fly.
They DID something egregious.
The suspects on it? Maybe, maybe not. Many are there through no fault of their own, including Senator Ted Kennedy, for a bit while he was alive.
What RepubliQonners understand but refuse to acknowledge is that unruliness in the air does terrorize and greatly inconvenience passengers. It is bullying and intimidation.
Thugs use bullying and intimidation to extract concessions, just like terrorism, except in the case of thugs it is in a solo self-centered narcissistic snowflaky way.
And now the RNC has laid it out in the open: their "legitimate political discourse" is nothing but bullying and intimidation.

(10,294 posts)Fortunately, the plane was still on the ground and we were delayed for at least 20-25 minutes while this idiot was told either to wear a mask or get off the plane. The flight attendants did not close the plane door until the person complied. This was the same man who was not wearing a mask in the terminal even though there were announcements every five minutes that all people were required to wear masks in the terminal at all times. The ground crew knew he was not wearing a mask but did nothing. They could have predicted that he would cause trouble once on the plane. I fully support a no-fly list. These people mostly suffer no consequences for bad behavior and outright assault on flight attendants.
