Boris Johnson Called Gay Men 'Tank-Topped Bumboys,' Black People 'Piccaninnies' W 'Watermelon Smiles

And Compared Muslim Women To "Letterboxes." Business Insider, *Nov. 22, 2019.

LONDON — Boris Johnson is fighting to win the upcoming general election on a promise to "get Brexit done" and then unite the country. However, Johnson is a divisive figure who has been dogged by questions about offensive comments he has made in the past.

Johnson claims that some of the comments were "wholly satirical," while others have been taken out of context. Here are some of the key controversial comments he has made over the years, with context and links to their original sources. Sexism The ex-foreign secretary and former London Mayor has long had a questionable attitude towards women, with both the House of Commons speaker John Bercow and female members of the London Assembly accusing him of sexist behaviour.

Evidence of Johnson's views towards women can be found throughout his career. In 1996, while a journalist for the Telegraph, Johnson went to the Labour conference and wrote a piece reviewing the quality of "the hot totty" who were present. "The unanimous opinion is that what has been called the 'Tottymeter' reading is higher than at any Labour Party conference in living memory," he wrote. He added that: "Time and again the 'Tottymeter' has gone off as a young woman delegate mounts the rostrum."

In an attempt to explain the trend of women shifting their allegiances to the Labour party, Johnson suggests that it is either due to the party's "planned erosion of male liberty — such as ending the right to drink in public places," or because of "Labour's most bizarre promise, that women will be more promiscuous if Mr Blair comes to power."

However, he concluded that the real reason women are turning to Labour is because of their natural "fickleness." "The real reason why Blackpool is buzzing with glamorous women is surely that they scent victory. It is not the great smell of Brut that makes John Prescott attractive. It is the whiff of power. With the fickleness of their sex, they are following the polls."

'Emotional' women are often 'blubbing blondes' or 'collapsing with emotion': Johnson also brought his admiration for "hot totty" into the office, pinning a Pirelli calendar to his desk, which featured nude photography, despite complaints from female colleagues. Boasting of his decision, Johnson told Telegraph readers that the calendar "caused something of a stir."

..In his 2001 book "Friends, Voters, Countrymen," Johnson compared gay marriage to bestiality, writing that "If gay marriage was OK – and I was uncertain on the issue – then I saw no reason in principle why a union should not be consecrated between three men, as well as two men, or indeed three men and a dog."...

that includes American, secular Muslim and Russian Jewish. I heard him mention the last two with David Letterman some years ago. In these times especially you can't be sure about peoples' views and allegiances. Bojo's certainly a raging bigot and thug- bully Tory.

(wiki) Ancestors and siblings- Johnson's paternal great-grandfather was Circassian-Turkish journalist Ali Kemal who was a secular Muslim; his father's other ancestry includes English, German and French; one of his German ancestors was said to be the illegitimate daughter of Prince Paul of Württemberg and thus a descendant of King George II of Great Britain..

Johnson's mother is the granddaughter of Elias Avery Lowe, a palaeographer, who was a Russian Jewish immigrant to the US, and Pennsylvania-born Helen Tracy Lowe-Porter, a translator of Thomas Mann. In reference to his varied ancestry, Johnson has described himself as a "one-man melting pot" – with a combination of Abrahamic religions great-grandparents. Johnson was given the middle name "Boris" after a Russian émigré his parents had once met. An episode of Who Do You Think You Are? explored the German origins of his middle name Pfeffel... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Johnson

These were the best two they could vomit up?

Really.

They have all lost their minds over there, and can no longer judge us on anything. At least our side ran a decent human being in 2016.

in the number of committed and effective public servants and officials in government has increased greatly since 1980 I think, certainly Reagan's 'government is the problem' was influential.

Also the huge rise in occupations and status of people employed in finance and tech.

When asked to take a cabinet position in govt. in the 90s, I remember a contact saying, 'there's not enough money in it.'

But I don't think Corbyn was himself but Boris Johnson is 100% horrible especially when it comes to statements about single moms while Corbyn protested apartheid before it was popular.

What I do know is there is a lot more open racism in the UK since Brexit & Johnson got most of those votes. Plus why would would Britain want to do a trade deal with Trump? They should be thankful they have NHS while we have insurance companies.

I consider what is going on in Israel to be a civil war started by European countries drawing lines on a map.

I'm aware he faced controversy for seeing Palestinians as human beings but that alone doesn't make him anti semitic. I agree he shouldn't have platforms that Cleric you mention.

The rhetoric from Tory supporters online is far worse while Labour supporters are closer to US left wing.

This is typical of what I see online.

Hamas and Hezbollah call for the murder of all jews, Corbyn shares a platform with them but he isn't an antisemite and you deflect with faux concern about Palestinians.

From name calling. If we could pin down what species they are we would call them something. I can’t even swear they are human. Some strange mutation experiment gone wrong is as close as I can get with them. Part Big Bird (Sorry Big Bird), part polar bear (sorry polar bears), part snake from the Garden of Eden, with a sprinkle of albatross. A plague resurrected from an unholy cave. Okay, I just don’t know what all there is. However, I do know name calling and put downs should not cross their distorted lying lips.
