The Only Truly Compliant, Submissive Citizen in a Police State Is a Dead One By John W. Whitehead
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article41344.htmDo exactly what I say, and we'll get along fine. Do not question me or talk back in any way. You do not have the right to object to anything I may say or ask you to do, or ask for clarification if my demands are unclear or contradictory. You must obey me under all circumstances without hesitation, no matter how arbitrary, unreasonable, discriminatory, or blatantly racist my commands may be. Anything other than immediate perfect servile compliance will be labeled as resisting arrest, and expose you to the possibility of a violent reaction from me. That reaction could cause you severe injury or even death. And I will suffer no consequences. It's your choice: Comply, or die.
Comply or Die policing must stop, Daily KOS

Americans as young as 4 years old are being leg shackled, handcuffed, tasered and held at gun point for not being quiet, not being orderly and just being childlikei.e., not being compliant enough.
Americans as old as 95 are being beaten, shot and killed for questioning an order, hesitating in the face of a directive, and mistaking a policeman crashing through their door for a criminal breaking into their homei.e., not being submissive enough.
And Americans of every age and skin color are being taught the painful lesson that the only truly compliant, submissive and obedient citizen in a police state is a dead one.
It doesnt matter where you livebig city or small townits the same scenario being played out over and over again in which government agents, hyped up on their own authority and the power of their uniform, ride roughshod over the rights of the citizenry. In turn, Americans are being brainwashed into believing that anyone who wears a government uniformsoldier, police officer, prison guardmust be obeyed without question.

(1,713 posts)Good luck balancing "fight or flight" with "comply or die" when the heavies target you. One poor woman made a wrong, split-second choice, and Congress gave a very specific standing ovation to her murderers.
(cue stream of people claiming that in THIS case the cops were correct in gunning her down)
Saw some stats that indicate US police kill almost 100 times the number of people that Chinese police do, despite their population being four times the size of ours.

(8,879 posts)have a source? I'm doing some academic research on holding unelected agents of the state accountable to the social contract in a liberal democracy, and I think that would make for a powerful illustration of a problem.

(1,713 posts)mind you, that's just what we can document and police are NOT forthcoming about the numbers - true numbers are almost certainly significantly higher

(23,730 posts)stop making it about race!" but because what happens in the colonies is always a dress rehearsal for the metropolis: what they did in Guatemala and Afghanistan they perfected military-police techniques that were imported home to tiny towns in NE or VT: even if watered down, what's happened to "African America" will be applied to "White America"
