US military: 5 service members accused of misconduct at same hotel as Secret Service agents.

Five U.S. Military Members Caught Up In Secret Service Prostitution Scandal
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/five-us-military-members-caught-up-in-secret

It looks like five members of the U.S. military have been caught up in the unfolding prostitution scandal involving members of the Secret Service startioned in Columbia. The full statement from U.S. Southern Command:

MIAMI - United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) announces April 14 that five U.S. service members assigned to Joint Task Force Summit of the Americas in support of the United States Secret Service violated the curfew established by the United States Senior Defense Official in Colombia and may have been involved in inappropriate conduct. The conduct is alleged to have occurred in the same hotel where the recalled United States Secret Service agents were staying.

The personnel are currently in Colombia but confined to quarters and under orders not to have contact with other individuals. They will return to the United States with the rest of the support contingency at the conclusion of the mission.

Reenlistment center where soldiers re-up I remember seeing an SOP on what you do when coming in contact with a hookers. What the right procedures are to use when in their company. I was shocked and the reenlistment sergeant thought it was funny. I guess stuff like this goes on alot and the american people don't know it. Some of these soldiers are really doing secret ops. That was a very long time ago. Heck I think well over 30 yrs ago.

And this sort of activity has only been going on since men went out of town overnight, say three or four thousand years or more ago.

It's obviously a "manufactured" incident meant to embarrass the President/USA.

Nothing more or nothing less. I don't think women back home would be happy to know their men are screwing with hookers and the government is aware of it. That was all.

wouldn't be happy if my husband was doing this behind my back. It would be different if he talked to me about it and I said ok as long as you wear protection. Women aren't stupid. I know it happened with my father-in-law who was a 25 yr veteran. His wife didn't want to get any STDs.

especially the military, most of us were single, not married.

Second part is this: if married, that issue is between the wife and husband, unless it interferes with the ability to do the job.

Third thing is this: In this age of volunteer army, there is a good chance that their careers are going to curtailed.

If the issue is an intelligence agency trying to blackmail - as little as we pay the military, money works better.

So right, Bush could damn near destroy the country with his stupidity and it was not a major issue, and all Clinton had to do was unzip his pants - and the world comes to an end.

We as a nation really have issues with sexuality...

should be the same. I knew a woman who was married over 20 yrs. She was an excellent wife. He brought her here from Greece. She was a young beautiful woman. She kept his home clean, cooked great meals and always was there when he needed her. She kept herself in great shape any man would have loved to have her as a wife. She was like a greek goddess. Her husband was a loser of a prick. She did whatever he wanted when it came to sex. This was her only man she ever slept with. He ended up given her an STD in her mouth. She was sick and finally went to the doctor and found out. But before she found out about that he decided one day he was going to leave her. I thought she was going to kill herself. She had one daughter 18 yrs old. She wasn't there for her mother. I brought her to my house because I felt she was going to kill herself. Finally I tracked the daughter down and told her she needed to step up and help her mother and that legally there was nothing I could do. It took over a yr for her to finally realize she was married to an asshole. She did end up with half of his pension which she earned.

And this doesn't sound like zipper action as much as just plain boozing. Who the hell thinks,"okay, I'm here for a week to set up for a summit, how drunk and stupid can I get before someone busts me"? Do these guys never get vacation days or what?

... Intelligence agencies have used them for years. Blackmail for information, embarrassment etc. It was a popular tactic of the KGB (now the FSB). The recent episode with the Russian, Anna Chapman, supposedly was an attempt to get close to a member of the Obama administration using her charms.
