Romney: Obama administration has ‘emboldened’ North Korea

Source: Yahoo News/AP

Mitt Romney linked North Korea's failed rocket launch to the Obama administration in a statement released late Thursday night, saying the president's efforts to appease the regime have "emboldened" Pyongyang.

In a statement condemning the launch, Romney said President Barack Obama has "no effective response" to North Korea's weapons program and supported a "food-aid deal" "that proved to be as naive as it was short-lived."

"At the same time, he has cut critical U.S. missile defense programs and continues to underfund them," Romney said. "This incompetence from the Obama Administration has emboldened the North Korean regime and undermined the security of the United States and our allies."

North Korea's Thursday rocket launch—which leaders claimed was designed to put a satellite into orbit—ended almost as soon as it began, with the rocket breaking into pieces.

Hey, Richie Rich. It was our last Republican President that emboldened... make that, handed North Korea clearance to produce nuclear weapons on a silver platter.

his far right wacko base.
President Obama must make responsible decisions.
Yes the "food-aid deal" may not have worked out.
It was the carrot.
North Korea knows Obama holds the stick.

Romney trying to out Nixon Nixon. The sleeze factor with Romney is just as high as it was with Nixon. They are cut from the same cloth. Apparently Romney has some secret plan for dealing with North Korea, just as Nixon had a secret plan for ending the war in Vietnam, except the secret was that he had no plan at all. Trusting Romney would be as ill-advised as it was to trust Nixon.

If whatever the administration has been doing led to them making fools of themselves, it sounds like we were doing exactly the right thing.

Outsource their jobs to China?
Buy their companies and downsize them and sell them?
Give every North Korean a car elevator for their homes?
Send every American of North Korean descent back to North Korea?
Send hedge fund operators to North Korea posing as physic scientists from Iran?
Provide them plans on how to attach a dog crate to the top of their car to transport their dog?

Hell, if it hadn't been for Romney's staff in North Korea sabotaging the launch,
their rocket might have wiped out Omaha!

Watch for Romney's new book with his vision for the future:

"The Audacity of a Dope"
