Jeb Bush to explore White House bid
Source: BBC News US & Canada
Jeb Bush, brother to former US President George W Bush, has announced he himself is looking into running for president in 2016.
The former Florida governor will "actively explore the possibility of running for President", he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
He will also create a political action committee to "facilitate conversations with citizens across America".
Mr Bush has pro-immigration views, an issue likely to top the 2016 campaign.

(29,503 posts)IMHO. Lots of people will be unenthusiastic about taking time out of their day to vote in an election in which they effectively have no choice, whether we are talking about Jeb or Hillary.

(95,337 posts)And btw I have no clue who I am supporting but I would support Hillary IF she gets the nomination in 2016. But at this point it's a wide open field and I think any of the names bandied about as the Democratic nominee could beat Jeb Bush.

(46,775 posts)Elizabeth Warren won't win, but Hillary has the name recognition to win. And why are you all so adamant against bankers? The world is not fair and someone is always going to push the envelope in finances.
I was shocked at how clueless they were. Retirement investments need to be protected, I said. The banking industry is just leeching off the hard earned money of people that need more secure investments.
Still clueless, but, then again, this person is a banker.

(4,280 posts)Thanks heavens for the "off" and "mute" buttons on our TV. Here's hoping Warren will run and that our MSM won't trash her. However, I will never stay at home and not vote for the Dems. Oh, unless a certain Independent runs, like Bernie!!

(11,495 posts)A continued Supreme Court dominated by republicans which will in turn insure that all thing republicans want, they will get, and it will insure that everything President Obama has accomplished, and he has accomplished a lot, will be repealed, defunded, or gutted.
Jeb is going to try and be the "sane republican" in the clown car, and he will "claim" to do a lot of things to try and get the independent voters, and eve try to pick off democrats who for some reason will refuse to vote for the democratic nominee.
I think he would get the nomination if he runs, but I also think that whoever wins the nomination for the democratic party can still beat him. He has a lot of baggage, and a brother that started the whole mess we have been trying to get out of for the last 6 years.

I would advise everyone to take your money out of the markets/banks and children out of the military.
The Bush family is a horror show. They serve themselves only and will completely destroy America and the world for their own gain.

(10,857 posts)Here's the important things to know about Jeb's totally unsurprising Presidential run:
1) A Bush MUST BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT. The reason isn't obvious, but it has a lot to do with the National Archives and Records Administration Act. Only the President controls the release (or nonrelease and destruction) of archival materials; President Obama is prohibited by precedent, the law, and a good sense of self-preservation from cracking open the books on Shrub.
There is no statute of limitations on murder, or treason. That is why the Presidential records of George W. Bush and his Republican predecessors is so important.
How important? Well, Republicans sat on the Presidential records of Lyndon Johnson for over 40 years. Why? Because Johnson found out that Republicans were secretly negotiating with the North Vietnamese to PROLONG the Vietnam war, to improve Nixon's chances in '68. That's kid's stuff compared to what Shrub covered up.
http://truth-out.org/progressivepicks/item/13994-how-richard-nixon-sabotaged-1968-vietnam-peace-talks-to-get-elected-president
That all stems from a fistful of documents which were mis-filed and therefore not destroyed in decades of comb-outs by placed archival staff. So just imagine what Shrub's people have to hide, when they were publicly covering up and evading foreknowledge of and prosecution for: the 9/11 attacks, outing a NOC agent of the CIA and the WMD team, stealing two elections, conspiring to start a war and drive up the price of oil, and hundreds of lesser crimes--all at the same time in 2005.
If we knew FOR SURE how evil they were in 01-09, they'd worldwide fugitives, is what I think.
2) The other thing to know is that Jeb can't win against Hillary Clinton. Poll after poll gives her a commanding lead among voters the GOP will never get back: women, for example, and all minorities, which is an automatic majority win if everyone were permitted to vote--which they won't be.
I think Mrs. Clinton's life is in danger, is all I want to say about that. She's too smart to have been politically destroyed in four decades in the public eye, so....
... So. There it is. The Republicans have to win this one when Republicans can only win in gerrymandered states. Hillary can't be in the race. Or a bunch of Republicans get hunted like Nazis for the rest of their lives.
So it's going to be a tragic, disgusting election, and they'll get close enough to steal it again, and most of us will be looking at a 60 year life expectancy instead of 74, which is just a statistical way to hide the next Holocaust, right here.
