2 reporters arrested at Ferguson McDonald's
Aug 13, 9:49 PM EDT

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) -- Two reporters covering the shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer in a St. Louis suburb say they were arrested at a McDonald's Wednesday evening in the commercial corridor where angry protests have occurred.

Wesley Lowery of The Washington Post and Ryan Reilly of The Huffington Post say they were working in the fast-food restaurant when SWAT officers came in to quickly clear the area. Both quickly tweeted about their arrests, detention and subsequent release without any charges.

Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson did not immediately return a cellphone message from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Earlier Wednesday, authorities urged people to confine their protests to daylight after three nights of tense confrontations, looting, tear gas and a second shooting nearby.

Local Police State Mostly Republican Associated

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Saying "we're still under attack,'' President Bush on Thursday proposed a 2003 homeland security budget of $37.7 billion -- almost double that of current levels -- to protect the United States against future attacks.
The budget, which Bush outlined in a White House speech to U.S. city mayors and county leaders on Thursday, would provide substantial increases in areas the White House said needs immediate attention in response to the Sept. 11 attacks.
These areas include police, firefighters and emergency medical teams; securing U.S. borders, combating bioterrorism, strengthening intelligence sharing, improving transportation security and supporting other national defense-related initiatives.
On Wednesday, Bush also proposed the largest budget increase in military spending for two decades amid his ongoing war on terrorism.

I have talked to local fire departments in small towns of a 100 hundred people such as Norfork Arkansas has $50,000 not used but Banked since 2003. Locals have quit because you have to be politically correct to stay on the fire dept. they are getting ready after squashing voting around the country for riots. They now have armored vehicles to show force if you do not like the outcome of “So Called Democracy” Michigan has already been taken over by a Dictatorship without any Distend as Republicans control the Fix or Game, Its going to get Very, Very Bad FAST!

There's some ugly stuff going on in that town.

Why should people have to accept that kind of snottiness, ever?

The cops need to be replaced by human beings.

Thanks for posting this video.

The cop in the video looks young and healthy enough to join the Army. If he wants to dress up and play solder, he should go ahead and join the Army. Of course, if he was a real soldier his targets will shot back.

I guess, to a certain mindset, it is better to play solider and shot unarmed civilians rather than run the risks of doing it for real. Maybe the Army rejected him as unsuitable?

You are correct. Of course, the Army probably would not take him, and besides, I doubt if the cop would be interested in going in to a war zone where people shoot back. lol

What happens when you arm "police" officers and give them impunity to do whatever they want. There is no accountability and it always ends up with a "US" vs "Them" mentality.
