Obama open mike flap hits Hill and campaign trail

Source: Washington post

President Obama’s unguarded comments to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility” to discuss missile defense after the November election continued to reverberate half a world away Tuesday, both in the halls of Congress and on the presidential campaign trail.

Speaking in Seoul, where he is wrapping up a three-day summit on nuclear security, Obama sought to clarify his remarks and make light of the moment.

“First of all, are the mikes on?” he joked.

He described missile defense as “extraordinarily complex, very technical” and said it would be virtually impossible to win broad consensus in Congress for any new major security agreements with Russia in an election year.

I was at the gym on the treadmill so I could see CNN, FOX, MSNBC .. etc with the same line running beneath ...Obama is heard on open mike...blah blah .. you know that scroll line that runs under the talking head .. I was interested in knowing what he said .. and now I would regard it as insignificant. FOX will definitely make a big big deal about it ... If you can stand to watch that channel.

It's a "who cares". Media cycles run quickly and this one is already replaced with some latest outrage.

But then again the main MSNBC males - from David Gregory, Chucky Todd, Matty Lauer and Brian Williams - are Repubican sycophants who constantly shill Repubican Talking Points.

Highlight that all of the war hawking with Iran is driving up gas prices, that the republicans are only concerned about winning elections and are pouring gas on things along the way.

Make it clear that the Rs are not interested in productive solutions to the big issues, just concerned about politics - this will match with REALITY.
