Father of accused rapist arrested in India for viciously beating victim’s mother

Source: Agence France-Presse

The mother of an Indian rape victim was allegedly beaten by the father of the accused after her family refused to withdraw allegations against his son, police said Friday.

The mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was critically ill in hospital after suffering multiple fractures in the attack at the family’s home in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh, police and medics said.

The father of the accused has been arrested and police said they were still looking for several other suspects accused of taking part in the attack on the victim’s mother on May 26.

“The father of the rapist was arrested by our team this morning. Other accused shall be arrested shortly,” local police chief R. K. Chaturvedi told AFP.

The last public hangman in India retired several years ago. There are now several individuals on death row, including some of the rapists from the New Delhi incident were the victim died as a result of being impaled with a steel rod. There is nobody trained to carry out the sentences. There was some talk, if I recall correctly, of trying to train some hangmen, but nothing came of it.

Like those Black Water Guys who for a price would do the job.

I'm sure there are a few cretins in the "Old South" whose families possess the required skills.

This article illustrates the problems with the "Death Penalty"

that matches the length of rope to the body weight of the hangee. You want the neck to snap. You don't want the rope to break when they hit bottom and you don't want it to strangle them slowly, witnesses tend to object to that.

I suppose India could import a hangman from a country where hangings are frequent, let him do a sweep of death row before he returns home. Then again, it's probably cheaper to keep them in cages for the rest of their lives.

It is a huge country with a billion people.

Would you NEVER go to the United States because some racists in Jasper, TX, lynched a black man?

Would you NEVER to to Belgium because they had a pedophile scandal there?

Bad things happen in all countries. So do good things.

Actually after nearly getting killed in TX 30 years ago for the sin of being "hippies", I will never stop at a small town in TX again.

It's bad enough traveling in the the rural bigotted south , why would I subject myself to India, where women are way more in danger than they are here? Other people can go there and take their chances, it's just not something I want to do. So many great places in the world to see, I'll never get to all of them, so can take one place off the list of "must-see's".

I work with people who travel there al the time, their partners there do not feel it is safe for them to unescorted in many areas.
It's as if you beleve this was an isolated incident, which is not nearly the case.

Death penalty now applies since a murder was involved. The family should be stripped of its wealth through fines and start working for a living.

There doesn't seem to be a country in the world where women are safe. There's this stuff in India and other third world countries, but here in the U.S. women are raped in colleges and the armed services and by celebrities as well as elsewhere, and the victims are usually ignored by the justice system and vilified by others.

I once had a divorce case and in court, instead of just the husband and wife, both their parents attended all hearings. The wife's sister and her husband were always there too. It was hard to tell them that the only client was the wife and her decisions were all that mattered.

In another case the other party's father kept calling and I said I could only speak with her or her attorney as he's not an attorney. And he kept telling me what he wanted, or trying to. He did not get that his daughter was considered an adult and independent agent in this country.

Then in a dispute between business both originally from India, one emailed the other you're not getting away with this and we are in the US, not India. Where presumably he could get away with it. It's supposed to be a Democracy but there must still be a lot use of pull and money to get legal victories.

I had a friend, you can google her(T, Turner)we had an argument one day and she ( in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down) wanted to fight me, but i was too scared of her even though she couldn't walk. I had dumped her cousin...

Anyways, a few years ago, she was dating some gangster dude and he was seeing a 15/16 year old girl on the side. She started a fight with the girl and stabbed her in the chest killing her, the girls mother came to help her child and my friends mother stabbed the girls mother for calling the cops. Mother lived daughter died. My friend and her mother are both residents of the California Prison System. I think she was planning on stabbing me when we had that argument, i saw a blade under her leg, not quite hidden. I had to leave the hood for a minute just to let things calm down.
I will never understand this kinda stuff. That coulda been me if i were more bout it and had decided to engage.
I wonder sometimes who shes going to kill when she gets out. It's going to happen.

If they let these guys out of jail, the woman and her daughter will probably get murdered. To proved somebody's manhood or something stupid like that.

Until societies stop treating women as property to be disposed of at will, nothing will change. In some cultures a farm animal is worth more than a woman.

This man was not outraged over what the son did, but of the consequences he would have to pay for his actions.

Sad and despicable.......
