Undocumented immigrant charged with voter fraud awaits extradition
Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal
CARSON CITY — An undocumented immigrant who registered to vote under a false name and cast ballots in the 2008 and 2010 Nevada elections is in custody in California and faces extradition to Nevada to face two felony charges. She registered as a Republican, but it is unknown which candidates she voted for or if her voting affected any close votes. Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller says the case ultimately demonstrates the integrity and security of Nevada’s elections process. “As we’ve demonstrated in past cases of elections violations, this type of fraud demands the most zealous prosecution,” Miller said. “There is no reason to believe that this type of fraud is widespread, however; one of the reasons that it isn’t widespread is our proactive approach to enforcing the laws that ensure the integrity of our elections system. 2. I think voter disenfranchisement is way more pressing an issue than an incident like this.

4. and the facts support you
incidents like this are rare, though we can expect the GOP to latch onto this to make their case.

3. If voter fraud was common and
leaned republican, the repugs wouldn't pass any laws.

5. Republicans need
all the voter fraud help they can get. Ironically, in this case their voter suppression would cancel this out.

6. Nevada has a closed primary. If she wanted to vote in the repuke primary
she would have registered as a repuke. If I recall correctly, whenever one side has a "sure thing" candidate, there are some who encourage people to switch parties for the primary and fuck with the other side's candidate to improve their match up in the general election. I'm not saying she's not really a repuke, but registering as a repuke doesn't mean much.

8. No estoy seguro....

12. wonder how many millions Rs spent to find this one lone 'undocumented' person
a republican voter? one would think undocumented persons would avoid detection and not try to vote. Especially with the republican anti-voter and anti-Mexican- hunts ongoing.
romney drops even closer to the magic-pants, 47% number /laughs number dropped to 47.2 now. |
