(28,976 posts)Death at an extreme old age could be from natural causes, but at 43?

(29,351 posts)I had a friend who died at 32 from a heart attack....I was shocked until I realized that:
A: He had a congenital heart condition
B. He smoked and was considerably overweight.
The fact that these factors likely played into it, lessened my "shock", but not my sorrow...He was
a really nice young guy...Mellow, gentle, a sculptor.

(108 posts)If he didn't take care of himself, ate poorly. lacked exercise, and/or he was a diabetic, it could happen.
Up until modern times, most people died in their 40s.
Considering how Breitbart viewed the world, he might have seen being healthy as a liberal conspiracy.

But I will be respectful - despite his past antics, I hope he rests in peace.

(8,694 posts)when he died he was with his father-in-law, the actor Orson Bean, who is married to Alley Mills, the actress from the "Wonder Years" (she was the mom) who is 23 years younger. He is 81.

(57,936 posts)Confused and cruel as he was, his family does deserve our sympathy. It's sad when a person dies before having the opportunity to develop fully as a human being. That is in my opinion the case with Andrew Breitbart.

(30,884 posts)Even though publicly he was someone that I'd want to flog. THEIR relationship with him may have been quite different. No matter what his character was like in his private life it's a jolt and a tremendous loss to a child when a parent dies.
My sympathy to them.

(159 posts)Amused and Astonished by ABC News initial article (its longer now), if you can call it that, more like 4 sentences and a picture to add length, yet they have now added a video. Honestly ABC crawled so far up this guys ass DURING the Sharrod scandal. I expected a huge shrine on the main homepage at least.

(32,758 posts)but my mom lost a cousin to a brain hemorrhage at that age. They had no idea anything was wrong and he collapsed after driving his family home from church Sunday morning, no joke. You just never know - live each day to the fullest.

(542 posts)it's certainly possible to die of natural causes at 43. I lost a close loved one to sudden cardiac arrest when she was 18. No drinking or drugs involved and she was an athlete.
