"A Plan I Liked": Ted Cruz's Speechwriter Laments Loss Of Government Health Insurance
Source: Burnt Orange Report
Speechwriter and Communications advisor for Ted Cruz lit up Twitter last night when she complained that, "It's almost November and I have no idea what my health plan will be or what it will cost in January."
It wasn't long before she was apparently inundated with tweets reminding her of why she lost her current health insurance -- Senate Republicans pushed an Amendment to force Congressional staff onto DC exchanges after cutting their initial employer-provided plans.
In response to those pointing out the inconvenient truth she tweeted, "If you guys think I am complaining about the Vitter amendment you are mistaken. I'm upset about being forced into DC exchange. Period." She then went back and referenced the same Amendment tweeting that her issue was the, "Requirement that all staff use DC exchange. Little noticed aspect of Obamacare."

(14,584 posts)I note this all the time.
The whole premise of their bullshit is that business should not be burdened by anything.
When presented with the reality that business has the burden of ensuring that people have health care, they either come up with some lame rationalization for why it is OK, ignor it ...
No consistency on any of their bulltshit ...

(21,475 posts)Hillary put together a plan to make every business responsible for insuring their employees. The Republicans got together and put together a plan to put the burden on people instead, hence the individual mandate..This idea came from the very bowels of the GOP and yet today it is "The end of America as we know it" They are nothing but hypocrites in every possible way.

It's as if republicans have some sort of brain damage that prevents the forming of long term memories or something.
Thank you for that...

Give us some numbers. Find out if you'll pay more, less, the same and how good the coverage will be.
I'm sick of hearing and reading about people crying about the costs without even looking into them.

(7,759 posts)exchanges. I do hope the Dem in both Houses expose this and keep it out in front of the public. In fact, the exchanges may not be all that bad for them BUT the fact that the people they adore and work for would come up with an idea to force something on them that they BELIEVED would harm them is enough to tell everyone what kind of people they work forl

(11,175 posts)This is misdirection by the Cruz staffer. She wants the focus to be on the Vitter amendment, so named because it was about Vitter but was pushed unsuccessfully by Democrats. She doesn't want people to remember the Grassley amendment, so named because it was by Grassley and was pushed successfully by Republicans. It's actually her own team's Grassley amendment that causes her current problem.
The only open question is: Is she simply and genuinely ignorant, on a point as to which no intelligent person in her position would be ignorant, or is she deliberately trying to mislead people for partisan purposes? Cruz staffer, ignorant versus hyperpartisan -- damn, it's a tough call.
