Blumenthal May Push Gun-Control Amendments to Immigration Bill
Source: Business Week
Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal said he is seriously considering pressing for a fresh debate on gun control during the Senates consideration of legislation to revise U.S. immigration laws.
Blumenthal said he may offer amendments to limit immigrants access to guns. The Senate is set to start considering the immigration measure next week.

The Democratic senators home state was the site of the Dec. 14 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, in which 20 children and six adults were killed. The shooting prompted a renewed debate over U.S. gun laws in the Senate, culminating in an effort to expand background checks for gun purchasers. That measure failed to advance April 17 on a 54-46 vote.
