Background Checks Beat Apple Pie, Baseball, Kittens In Americans' Hearts: Poll

Source: Huffington Post

Pitching gun violence legislation during a major speech in Connecticut this past week, President Barack Obama noted that, according to multiple polls, 9 in 10 Americans agree that somebody purchasing a firearm needs a background check.

"How often do 90 percent of Americans agree on anything?" he joked, drawing laughter from the audience. In collaboration with the online polling firm YouGov, The Huffington Post set out to answer that question. What we found: Not often.

More Americans, it turns out, support universal background checks than like apple pie, baseball, kittens and child labor laws.

all the fearmongering on the part of the NRA and their useful idiots does nothing to bolster their self-styled ruffy-tuffy-wuffy image. All those who fret over background checks as a first step toward the big, bad gummint coming to grab their guns are coming off as a bunch of pussilanimous poseur pisswillies instead of the manly men they're trying so hard to emulate.

100% of Americans should support child labor laws to promote eduation.

Kittens, apple pie and baseball also deserve respect.

Although preventing gun violence would protect all the others.
