Illinois state Sen. Kyle McCarter (R) took to his Facebook page to argue that the bill passed by the Democratic-controlled chamber was an injustice against "those who hold the sincerely held religious belief" that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

If, like myself, you feel compelled to let State Senator McCarter know how you feel about his blatant bigotry, you can do so by going to his Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/votemccarter?ref=stream
My online comment?
"Hey, fuckwad! Your religious beliefs aren't supposed to be our laws. Keep your religion out of my government and I'll keep my government out of your church.
When you can stand up and say that you are living your life without sin, then judge. Until then sit the fuck down, and shut the fuck up, and represent your constituents.
Even the gay ones.
Stand up to these right-wing thugs, Illinois!"

Sir, you have your Republican friends have done more to harm this country than any outside force could ever do. If you really believe Gay Marriage is worst than the hate and bigotry you spill on a daily basis, then you are truly a lost cause and your soul is damned. There is a special place in hell for the likes of you and the devil is waiting to get his hands on you.
Ps delete my post if you want but it will live forever on the internet, you can not stop us, for we are legion, we are forever, we are anonymous. If you do not change your ways I will spend the next election making sure you do not get reelected. I am your worst nightmare, a democrat who's still in collage with nothing to do with my time after school.
I also reported his page, maybe if enough of us do, Facebook will remove it especially because Facebook supports gay rights.

(3,596 posts)Those poor conservatives whose religious views are no longer allowed to determined how we as a secular society treat our citizens.
Look, as both a Christian and a gay man, I respect the right of religious institutions, or individuals for that matter with or without a religious basis, from believing whatever they believe. I may disagree with their belief but they are entitled to their beliefs or views.
But as a Christian I do not believe it is my right to bind those that do not share my religious beliefs and as a gay man I don't want to have anyone else impose their religious beliefs on me.
Recognizing same-gender marries does no discriminate against those who believe it is wrong. They can still believe it is wrong. But what they want is the right to impose their beliefs on everyone else.
These Christians always claim to be so discriminated against. I have ZERO sympathy for them. They are protected under the Constitution with the right to practice their beliefs (subject to reasonable restrictions such as you cannot perform human sacrifice as part of your religious rituals) and the government cannot impose any beliefs on you. They enjoy tax-exempt status. Christmas is a national holiday.
They are in no way being discriminated against.

If marriage is so sacred - how does he manage to keep sane around all those divorcees at the Capitol?
