Dennis Kucinich debuts as a Fox News contributor

Source: Politico

Dennis Kucinich made his debut as a Fox News contributor on Thursday night, with host Bill O’Reilly calling the former Democratic representative the “same left-wing nut we know and love” from his years in Congress.

Kucinich — who had teased his new gig by writing on Twitter earlier Thursday that he was a “rooster in Fox lair” — made his first appearance as a contributor with Fox on “The O’Reilly Factor." Before Kucinich went on-air to discuss gun control, Reilly joked that he was introducing “another wild conservative guy” as the network’s newest addition.

“Wow, what a conversion — congressman how did that happen? You know all the people on Fox News are far right, crazy people,” O’Reilly said when Kucinich appeared on screen.

Kucinich, however, shut down the chit-chat about his new role quickly, replying, “Well, you know, together again at last, Bill. I appreciate a chance to be on with you and I’ve always enjoyed our exchanges, and let’s go forward.”

“So you’re the same left-wing nut we know and love from the Congress, right?” O’Reilly said.

such a thing. The DNC worked with Fox. Obama granted them a one on one exclusive interview. The ultimate media legitimization, a sitting President as guest.
So folks behaving as if the Party and leadership have shunned FoxNews are simply not informed or not being honest. I think they should have. But they did not. Which means others who need a job should not be expected to do that which the President and the Party do not do. Hypocrisy bugs me.

I find it amusing that folks who were just fine with Rachel and MSNBC paying Pat Buchanan the nation's leading bigot to comment as if he was something other than a hate monger are all whiney that Dennis is taking pay from Fox to speak his mind. To repeat: MSNBC paid Buchanan the racist. They called him 'Uncle Pat'. They cut checks to him for speaking hate....
Personally, I find what Dennis is doing far less repugnant than calling Buchanan uncle and paying him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Buchanan gave perhaps the single most homophobic political speech in American history yet Rachel hosted him again and again and again. And she did so for the same reason Dennis is working at FoxNews. People need to earn money and aside from the money, they need to work.

I do have respect for people like Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, etc. who have done a lot in Congress for progressive/liberal causes by working with people and getting things done instead of taking the "all-or-nothing, my-way-or-the-highway" approach that Dennis did.

And you don't go to the most ignorant. You go to people who have a desire and and a willingness to listen and learn, even from people with whom they disagree. FOX viewers are not that.

And if they can't find anything relevant to say then O'Reilly will bring out a 'body language' expert who is

able to say, without exception, that Democrats lie 100% of the time.

Obviously Dennis is not a rich man and needs to feed his family and he is getting a good paycheck out of it.

But let's not deceive ourselves, there are no set of circumstances where FOX is going to let him get the better of O'Reilly or Hannity or anyone one of their RW propogandists.

Moreover, when he criticizes Obama, and he will, it will be taken out of context and replayed a million times.

Again I don't fault the guy for taking care of his family, but this isn't missionary work.

You've nailed it. We've all seen it before.

Its like the popular mean kids have invited him to sit at their lunch table only for certain meals. Most of the time he is not allowed. the only reason they have him at their table is to find fresh material, slips of the tongue. Most of the time the rest of his new "friends" sit around saying "Did you hear what he said? OMG! He's craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy"

That said, all things considered, I think its more beneficial than not when a progressive is a guest on FAUX News. Most of its viewers just never ever hear the truth. If he helps one or two viewers say "That's BS...I'm going to look that up on the net.....Oh!...he's right.." it's worth it.

They threw him into the same district as another liberal Democratic incumbent, Marcy Kaptur. That means the loss of one Democratic seat whatever happens.

As a bonus, though, they made sure the new district included substantially more of Kaptur's constituents than Kucinich's. They would have been happy enough to oust Kaptur, but they were even more keen to deprive Kucinich of his Congressional platform.

Now he's found another platform. This time, it's some DUers who want to shut him up. (And, yes, I realize that no one has said that he should be prohibited from speaking, First Amendment, blah blah blah. I mean that it's DUers who seem to be happier with a Kucinich-free national political discourse. In that preference they're probably emulating quite a few of the DINOs in Congress.)

Dennis Kucinich to Give Lecture on Restoring Hope for America
source: THE NUCLEAR AGE PEACE FOUNDATION

Dennis Kucinich, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997-2013, will deliver the 12th Annual Frank K. Kelly Lecture on Humanity’s Future on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lobero Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Kucinich’s lecture is entitled “Restoring Hope for America’s Future through Developing a Culture of Peace.”

Dennis Kucinich is a passionate and articulate leader for peace and disarmament. He was a strong advocate in Congress to establish a U.S. Department of Peace, and was a leader in the efforts to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
