Republican Tim Scott falsely claims Biden policy resegregates public schools

Donald Trumps inner circle is stepping up efforts to woo Black and other minority voters, with a leading candidate to be his vice-presidential running mate claiming falsely on Sunday TV that Joe Biden was resegregating US public schools.
Tim Scott, the US senator from South Carolina who has been open about his desire to be on Trumps ticket, made one of the most extreme claims yet. Speaking on CNNs State of the Union show, he described President Biden as a supporter of educational segregation. We need four more years of common sense under Donald Trump, and not four more years of segregation under Joe Biden, Scott, who is African American, said.
Asked by CNN host Dana Bash whether suggesting Biden was for segregation was going too far, Scott tried to justify the contention by saying that the elimination of charter schools under Joe Biden resegregates schools in America. He added that schools in the largest cities were being resegregated by Joe Bidens Department of Education which has halted the growth of charter schools that provide greater diversity.
In fact, charter schools, which are publicly funded but which operate outside state school systems, are backed by federal government grants through the Charter Schools Program to the tune of $440m a year a level that has remained unchanged since 2019 under the Trump administration. Scotts argument that charter schools create more diversity is also open to question.

Friends in Columbia told me years ago about self-righteous "Man of God" Uncle Timmy, because my friend's cousin grew up near where the Scott family lived, then in later years the same cousin went to high school with Uncle Timmy, and the cousin used to give him the side-eye because he knew who the real 'Holier than thou' Uncle Timmy was, because when you grow up in those small towns, its next to impossible to fake the funk so to speak. Yeah, Uncle Timmy's a hot, tap-dancing mess And speaking of "Stepin Fetchit," my late Father fixed his car a few times for free, and at that time in his life he was very much down on his luck, and hella bitter and angry about his own life choices.

Wife was feeling really bad today, so, I headed off to local kwik-stop to get fried chicken for lunch, was listening to Bash's interview with Scott and when he started this business about how Biden's Dept of Education had banned charter schools from Chicago thereby re-segregating schools all over the country, I was hit with a huge face full of WTF??!?!?!?!?!
It's a good thing we are no longer living in Old Testament times when God smote people dead for lying . . . or maybe that would be a good thing . . . would rid us of the entire MAGAt community!!!

Since I don't have a TV in my bedroom, I'll just pop on the receiver that I have in my bedroom and listen to the MSNBC night shows if something moderately newsworthy is going on (but I often end up out like a light and will "accidentally" sleep through Lawrence, one of the best hosts, waking up right when Stephanie Ruhle comes on ).
