Trump loudly booed at Libertarian convention when he asks attendees to 'nominate me or at least vote for me'
Source: CNN
Former President Donald Trump was loudly and consistently booed throughout his speech Saturday at the Libertarian Partys national convention, particularly when he asked attendees to nominate me or at least vote for me.
The heckling began the moment the former president took the stage, and some of his supporters in the room tried to drown out the boos with chants of We want Trump.
Now I think you should nominate me or at least vote for me, and we should win together, Trump said. Because the Libertarians want to vote for me
and its very important because we have to get rid of the worst president in history.
...snip...
Trump left the stage after 34 minutes, marking one of his shortest campaign speeches to date. The Libertarian Party is expected to select its presidential nominee Sunday.

He has to be raging that he didn't get the audience adulation he craves.

WASHINGTON, May 25 (Reuters) - Presidential candidate Donald Trump was booed and heckled by many in a raucous audience at the Libertarian National Convention on Saturday night, a marked change from the adulation he receives at rallies from his fervently loyal supporters.
Libertarians, who believe in limited government and individual freedom, blame Trump, a Republican, for rushing through the creation of a COVID-19 vaccine when he was president and for not doing more to stop public health restrictions on the unvaccinated during the pandemic.

Trump promises Libertarians a cabinet slot and to free a notorious drug kingpin
THE NEWS
Donald Trump promised members of the Libertarian Party that he would put a libertarian in my cabinet and commute the life sentence of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, a top demand of a political movement that intends to run its own candidate against him.
On day one, we will commute the sentence, Trump said, offering to free the creator of what was once the internets most infamous drug clearinghouse. We will bring him home. His speeches more typically include a pledge to execute drug dealers, citing China as a model.
Its time to be winners, said Trump, asking rhetorically if third party delegates wanted to go on getting single-digit protest votes. Im asking for the Libertarian Partys endorsement, or at least lots of your votes. ... It was an unexpected offer from an unprecedented speech one of several by non-Libertarians who the party invited to address its nominating convention. Trumps own supporters were outnumbered by Libertarian delegates who resented his presence.
A chant of We Want Trump was drowned out quickly by End the Fed! When Trump called Joe Biden a threat to democracy, some delegates shouted: So are you! He got a better reception when joking that the criminal charges against him made him a libertarian, and that he started no new wars in four years.

(1,417 posts)He, in the end, is an entertainer. He probably sees the Libertarian Convention the same way he sees a WWF match. I really dont think the booing bothered him. He had to have expected it.
His supporters are now saying at least hes going to places he knows he will never get the votes from.
I dont know what he hopes to accomplish, but I dont think the booing bothered him either.
Hes not Presidential, hes a clown (quoting Governor Hochul) and hopefully America see through his play acting this time.
