Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is prosecuting the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump, has called Representative Jim Jordan from Ohio a "clown" who is trying to interfere in the prosecution.
Earlier this year, the House Judiciary Committee launched an investigation into Willis' office's use of federal funds. Jordan, the Republican chair of the committee and Trump ally, later threatened to hold her in contempt of Congress if she did not comply with a subpoena for documents.
"Jim Jordan has time after time after time attacked my office with no legitimate purpose," Willis said during an interview on MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday.
"Anyone who knows Jim Jordan's history knows that he only has the purpose of trying to interfere in a criminal investigation." Newsweek has contacted Jordan's office for comment via email.Willis said Jordan was continuing the attacks on her office while neglecting the district he represents in Ohio.

D.A. Willis calls it "disgusting" but says "it shall fail."

(10,048 posts)... it's NOT appropriate for a County DA to call a US Congressperson a "clown" - unless, of course, the person is a clown. In this case, the description may be too elevated. I would suggest an additional word might make the description more appropriate. How about "Wretched clown?" "Good-for-nothing clown?" "Low life clown?"

(20,033 posts)happened to a federal prosecutor back in the 40s. Back then, politicians (senators, reps, state & local politician, seven president) had him removed because he was prosecuting "one of their own" and they didn't want that Nazi sympathizer prosecuted.
They were attacking the Rule of Law for him and Rachel connected it to today's time where all of the clowns are attacking the rule of law with TSF and the criminal trial in NY.
Recommend you watch the show on MSNBC.com if you get a chance as it a was fantastic show..
