.................
It was previously reported that the former president became annoyed with Lake because she was causing him problems with his wife Melania because of her constant presence at his Mar-a-Lago resort. On Monday, the Washington Post reported the rift also was based over Trump's concerns she is not out doing enough campaigning.
As the report notes, the race to fill the seat being vacated by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) is one of the most closely watched in the 2024 election and Lake, a political novice with one failed bid for statewide office in 2022, is expected to face
Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).............
......................According to the new Post report, there is growing tension between the Trump and Lake camps that she will be a detriment in a close election and that Trump has had to urge her to decamp from Mar-a-Lago and get to work winning over voters. ...............
............."Trumps frustration with Lake has only increased over the past year, heightening the tension," the Post report adds, and then notes that the former president is still aggravated she failed to acquire the governorship in the pivotal state, grumbling to a friend at Mar-a-Lago, 'She didn't win.'"......................

Trump complains that Lake not doing enough campaigning, yet Trump had OFF last Wednesday
and last weekend and did NO campaign rallies [3 full days--golfing on 2 of them that I know of].

(308 posts)I wouldn't be surprised if Lake had Trump bumped, then claimed VP Immunity.
Very strange that there is a total lack of Lake campaign ads in the Phoenix media market. Either she is keeping her powder dry, or has no money, or is trying to win with just the wing nuts of outlying counties, or she's just going to concede Phoenix due to her unpopularity here.
Maybe if she loses this time, she will crawl back into her hole and not be seen again? We can only hope.

Kristi Noem, who will be known forever after as a puppy-murderer.
Is Joni Ernst of hog-castrating fame on the list?
"His" Black people: Tim Scott and Byron Donalds.
Elise Stefanik, whose brown-nosing (orange-nosing?) has become downright epic.
Sarah Sanders, whose ethics are appropriately dubious and whose brother was also known for dog-murdering.
There are probably more rogues to add to the gallery, but these reprobates immediately come to mind. Aren't they a perfect representation of today's GOP?

Don jr. is desperate for Daddys approval and would do anything TSF tells him to do which is exactly what TSF wants in a VP.

(116,045 posts)has changed - used to be that the second-highest electoral vote winner got the job; now the electors vote for them separately although they run on the same ticket. But their only designated constitutional duty was as president of the Senate. Of course, the Constitution never stopped Trump from doing what he wanted, but he'll need a running mate whose function will be to kiss his ass passionately without stealing attention from him.

(47,781 posts)I wonder what it must feel like knowing that millions and millions of people despise you. Not just dislike you, but truly hate** you. Surely he must feel all that hate directed his way 24/7.
Of course, if he does feel anything, he probably has no idea what it is, maybe something he had for dinner last night.
** Of course, "hate" is not a strong enough word. I'm not sure there is an adequate one in the English language.

(183,073 posts)Ive never read Peales book but Id think its about setting positive goals and not starting just to NOT do something. As weve seen, everything has to not only be THE BEST with Trump but there can be no negatives. Even if its some staffer 7 layers down from him he think it reflects badly on him. Anything not THE BEST has to be ignored or explained away.
We saw this in the Lost February at the beginning of COVID. No one would blame him (like W and 9/11) and in fact he was basically handed a second term. All he had to do was positively lead and show some example of human compassion. Nope, he went straight into denial and wild grandiose predictions. That one month is pointed to by many as a big element in the deaths of 10s if not 100s of thousands of people.

(47,781 posts)as ways to become better people and be more successful in life. A narcissist like Donald Trump, takes such teachings and uses them from an egocentric point of view.
Trump thinks positive, but when things don't work out, he just leaves the mess behind for others to clean up as he pushes forward to the next venture. His version of "The Power of Positive Thinking" does not include responsibility, just rewards. Also, he has no problem with lying, cheating, and breaking the law.

(211 posts)Trump doesn't like snitches and no Republicans trust her after finding out she is secretly recording their conversations and airing their dirty laundry.
