CIA refutes whistleblower claim pushed by Republicans leading Biden impeachment inquiry

CNN House Republicans leading the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden were dealt their latest blow this week when the CIA informed them that an allegation they pushed was false, the latest example of House Republicans citing questionable information to make a serious claim.
Without the evidence or the votes to impeach the president, at this point there is no clear consensus on how or even when to end the Republican-led impeachment inquiry. This latest development comes after the Department of Justice charged a once trusted FBI informant with lying about the president and his son Hunter Bidens involvement in business dealings, undercutting a major aspect of Republicans impeachment inquiry into the president.
House Oversight Chair James Comer and House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan accused the CIA in a letter last month of intervening in the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden by preventing IRS and DOJ investigators from interviewing a witness in their probe, based on information they say came from a whistleblower. But the CIA has refuted that claim in a letter obtained first by CNN that was sent to Jordan and Comer.
Without confirming or denying the existence of any associations or communications, CIA did not prevent or seek to prevent IRS or DOJ from conducting any such interview. The allegation is false, CIA Director of Congressional Affairs James A. Catella wrote to the Republican Committee Chairs.

Besides Benghazi helped fuck Hillary's presidential chances. They were hoping to fuck up Biden's chances for a second term.
Congressional members have total immunity for anything they say on the House floor. So go pound sand. We intend to drag Biden's name through the mud until election day 2024.

Gullible: Top Democrat hits GOP over CIA allegations, Joe Biden impeachment inquiry
WASHINGTON Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, is going after House Republicans' impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden and broader investigation into the presidents family, alleging his GOP colleagues are "gullible" after raising accusations about the CIA.
Raskin in a letter first shared with USA TODAY asked Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., to allow Democrats to review allegations from a new whistleblower. The person claims the CIA obstructed the governments investigation into the presidents son, Hunter Biden.
Democrats must assess whether you are ... making our Committee a party to efforts by malign foreign interests to influence American elections, Raskin wrote, referencing Alexander Smirnov, an indicted FBI source.
Smirnov was charged in February for lying to federal investigators about Joe Biden and Hunter Bidens involvement with a Ukrainian energy company. Up until his arrest, Republicans regularly promoted his allegations. Smirnov claimed he had extensive foreign ties with Russian intelligence agencies, according to prosecutors.
